Heute war früh Tagwach. Um 7.30 Uhr holten uns Astrid und Kandy beim Campingplatz ab und wir fuhren zu viert Richtung Milford Sound. Das einzige mit dem Auto erreichbaren und wohl bekanntesten Fiord in Neuseeland. Die Fahrt dahin war sehr abenteuerlich, kurvenreich und inkl. einem einspurigen Tunnel. Am Ziel angekommen, wurden wir sofort von Sandflys (die kleinen lästigen Sandfliegen) begrüsst. Ausser ihnen gab es nicht viel, ein Informationscenter mit Kaffe plus dem Hafen von wo aus alle Schiffsausflüge starteten. Da wir mit Jucy unterwegs sind, nahmen wir natürlich auch die Jucy Cruises. Die Fahrt dauerte ca 90 min und führte durch das ganze Fiord hinaus bis ins offene Meer. Da es lange nicht mehr geregnet hat in Neuseeland, war die Landschaft zwar spektakulär aber nicht gerade atemberaubend. Mit mehr Niederschlag wären offenbar überall kleine Wasserfälle zu bestaunen, was sehr eindrücklich sein muss. Auf dem Schiff waren selbstverständlich so gut wie nur Asiaten und nachdem diese alle ihre Fotos und Selfies geschossen hatten, waren wir bereits zurück am Hafen. Wir spazierten zurück zum Auto und machten uns auf den Rückweg. Diese wurde leider etwas länger als geplant, da wir nur etwa 30min vor unserem Camping in einen Stau gerieten. Wir nutzten die Zeit für eine Runde Eile mit Weile.

Today we had an early wake up - we were picked up at 7.30am by Astrid and Kandy at the campside and went to Milford Sound. The only Fjord which is accessable by car and due to that the most famous one. The drive was very adventurous, curvy and includes a one lane tunnel. Arrived at our destination we've been attacked by Sandflys (small nasty flies). Apart from those there was not much to see except the information centre and one coffee shop - ofc the harbour was there too. Since we have our Campervan with Jucy we booked our cruise with Jucy as well. The cruise lasted around 90 minutes and took us through the whole Fjord all the way to the open sea. Since it had not rained in this part of New Zealand for a while the landscape was amazing but not breath-taking. With more rain there would have been more waterfalls - which we were told - would be breath-taking. On the boat were ofc almost just asians and after they took all of their selfies we arrived back at the harbour. We took a short walk to the car and started the way back to the campsite - this took a bit loonger than expected as we got stuck in traffic jam. We took the opportunity to play "Eile mit Weile" in the car which was quite fun.
