Nun geht die Reise also los. Nachdem wir in aller Frühe Zuhause von Karen's Vater abgeholt wurden - an dieser Stelle ein Dankeschön an Herbert und Elke - sind wir nun am Flughafen. Unsere beiden Rucksäcke - aus welchen wir die nächsten 9 Monate leben sind eingecheckt und so langsam steigt die Nervosität immer mehr. Nach erfolgreicher Sicherheitskontrolle sitzen wir nun am Gate und warten bis das Boarding beginnt. Auf uns wartet ein knapp 13h Flug Richtung Singapur. Dort haben wir einen Aufenthalt von 13h, in welchem wir vorhaben, Singapur zu besichtigen. Anschliessend sind es noch einmal knapp 10h bis Christchurch.

Ein Highlight haben wir aber gleich zu beginn, der erste Flug für uns zwei im A380... :)

Now the journey finally starts. After Karen's dad picked us up from home very early in the morning - thank you so much Herbert and Elke for doing this - we are at the airport now. Backpacks - out of which we are going to live from the next 9 months - are checked in and the nervousness is constantly rising higher. After the successful security check we are now sitting at the gate and wait for the boarding to begin. An almost 13 hour flight in Direction Singapore is waiting for us. There we are going to have a layover of 13 hours in which we had planned to visit the City of Singapore. Thereafter we have another almost 10h flight to Christchurch in NZ.

A highlight right at the beginning - the first flight for both of us with the A380 :)
