"Ladies and Genltemans, Welcome to Christchurch". Auf diese Durchsage haben wir nun doch lange gewartet. Jedoch sind wir richtig nervös. Haben wir doch schon von vielen gehört, das die Einreise in Neuseeland nicht ganz einfach ist. Auch die Fernsehsendung Boarder Control hat sicher nicht zur Beruhigung beigetragen. Die Grenzwache soll sehr streng sein und nichts tolerieren. Bereits beim zusätzlichen Sicherheitscheck in Singapur am Gate haben wir einen Fragebogen erhalten. Die Fragen waren nicht ganz einfach, aber wir füllten diesen mit bestem Gewissen aus. Wir gaben alles an, was wir dabei hatten. Medizin, Essen, Outdoor-Ausrüstung usw.

Wir gingen von einer längeren Prozedur aus bis wir einreisen dürfen. Es kam jedoch alles ganz anders..

Als erstes kamen wir zur Passkontrolle, dieser überaus freundliche Herr (das fällt sowieso auf, die 'Kiwis' sind sehr freundliche Menschen) hatte ein, zwei Fragen an uns und schon waren wir vorbei. Doch die grosse Kontrolle kam erst noch. Wir nahmen unsere Rücksäcke entgegen und begaben uns in die Warteschlange zur Vorsondierung. Schnell viel uns auf, das nach dieser alle in vier verschiedene Reihen eingewiesen wurden. Und Reihe 2 hatte schon eine recht lange Warteschlange.. Als wir an die Reihe kamen, wurden wir über alles ausgefragt was wir dabei hatten. Da wir nur vier Riegel und etwas Aromat dabei hatten (jaaa wir durften Aromat einführen :) ) ging das in Ordnung. Auch unsere Schuhe waren sauber genug, so durften wir glücklicherweise in Reihe 3 direkt zum letzten Scan gehen und waren nach knapp 45min eingereist.

Mit dem Bus fuhren wir ins Stadtzentrum und von dort zu Fuss ins Hostel. Da wir noch etwas früh waren, konnten wir noch nicht einchecken. Jedoch durften wir es uns im Garten gemütlich machen und uns in der Sonne etwas ausruhen.

"Ladies and Gentlemans, Welcome to Christchurch". For this message we have been waiting for so long now. Although we become much more nerveous now because we have heard so many times that the Entry (Passport Control, Customs) is not quite easy here in New Zealand. Also the TV Show "Boarder Control" did not help very much here. The boarder guard is supposed to be very strict and would not tolerate much. Already back in Singapore after an additional security check we got the forms handed out. We tried to answer all those weird question with best knowledge. We stated, that we carry medicine, food and outdoor gear with us... So we expected this to take a while but it came completely different.

First we got to passport control and this super nice gentleman (this is outstanding - the Kiwis are incredibly friendly) asked us a couple of questions and by that we were through. But the "big" control was just upcoming. We got our backpacks and stood in line for the preliminary probing - we noticed very quickly that the people got split into 4 different rows and row 2 was quite a line already..

Once we were on call we got questions about all the equipment we had with us... since we only had some food bars and AROMAT ;) with us (YES we were allowed to bring Aromat to the country) we were fine. Also our shoes were clean enough and we could proceed to row 3 to the last scan and after approximately 45 minutes we were in the country.

We took a bus ride to the city centre and from there a short walk to our Hostel. Since we were a bit early we could not yet check in. We sat a bit in the garden und chilled in the Christchurch sun.
